In addition to using earth as the medium and wood as fuel,humans have developed using other natural materials in ceramic creation.In”Utilizing Nature” section,you may find works incorporating techniques including wood firing,pit firing,smoke firing,salt firing,or bone china. In “Representing Nature”,cultural and ecological environment are visualized by artists with their own observations.The connection between pottery and nature culminates in the “Caring for Nature”section.Mankind’s overexploitation of nature has caused catastrophes,and ceramic artists use their language,ceramic art,to call for social awareness.
