Winnie Yang, this year's Achievement Award winner, is one of the pioneers in Taiwan contemporary ceramics. In the 1980s, she set up the first ceramics studio in southern Taiwan in Kaohsiung. Not only her works are eye catching, but her selfless efforts have led many to know about, to learn about, and to make ceramics. Because of her long-term endeavor, more and more good ceramic works are made in southern Taiwan and are displayed all around the nation.
