Taipei county Yingge Ceramics Museum was established with the aim of promoting the integration of modern ceramic art in Taiwan with international developments, allowing Taiwan to move out into the world while the theme of the 2002 Ceramics Sculpture Festival - Ceramics, Food and Drink - the Museum planned the International Art Teapot Exhibition, allowing visitors to discover for themselves the place which the teapot - that symbol of everyday life - occupies within modern ceramic art, to challenge preconceptions, and to encourage the free flow of ideas and the free exercise of the imagination.
