This exhibition was devised by Prof. Liou Chen-chou at the Department of Crafts and Design in the National Taiwan College of Arts. On the basis of his insight and ideals, Porfessor Liou offered a clear perspective for observing the development of Taiwan's modern ceramics. He proceeded from the angle of "practicality" and systematically introduced ceramists' interpretations of the definition of "practicality" by categorizing pieces into five topics:1)Expression of characteristics in traditional products by glazing; 2)Expression of texture through innovative patterns on traditional ceramic products; 3)Expression of changes in the shapes of practical ceramic; 4)Expression of innovation in functions of practical ceramics; 5)Expression of subversion regarding the definition of "practicality" for ceramic products.
