  • Amateur Designers and Small Studios
Chen Zhong-yao studied electrical engineering in vocational high school. Since he was little, he has had a lot of ideas. When inspiration came to him at night, he could not sleep, so he drew his ideas on paper. In junior high, he once made a model of the Japanese Zero fighter aircraft with cardboard for art class. His teacher gave his work an “F” because it looked like something bought in a store. As he graduated and began working, he was inspired by ceramics. He drew many designs and sought collaboration with local ceramics studios. Therefore, at Chao-yi Pottery, we can find many unique ceramic works that blend aesthetic creativity with functionality.
