Yingge ceramic industry expanded from the Wu family from the beginning of the Japanese Colonial Period. Many pottery families managed to continue their trade through generations, constantly adapting and changing with the times. Chen Wutu´s family produced household wares for four generations in Jianshanpu. New generations of kiln factories revive vintage-style bowls. The latest generation of the Hsu Yinxi family has decided to return to the roots to create their own brands. There are interesting stories of the lives of potters in each generation of the Wu family. Through these stories, we present to you the pottery industry in Yingge and its rich ethnic culture.
