  • Longquan Celadon Bowl, with Chrysanthemum Petal Decoration
This bowl has an angular folded round rim that slopes slightly inwards, shallow arched sides, a flat bottom and a small circular base. The interior surface is decorated with a concave chrysanthemum petal design. The light gray body of the vessel is covered with green-gray glaze, and the unglazed circle around the base a light gray-brown color. Where the glaze and the body of the vessel meet the color is dark red, with a slightly raised chicken's heart design on the bottom of the circular base. Other than similar pieces being unearthed at the kiln site a chrysanthemum petal plate decorated with a concave chrysanthemum petal design was discovered in Jinyu Village, Suining Village.
That work was a clear imitation of the style of gold silver vessels. (abstract)
